I took Zach this afternoon for a second opinion on his fractured thumb.
I was right!
This doctor agreed that the break was very minor. Said that most kids will hurt it more in daily life than playing football with it protected! He said that if he had pins or it was dislocated, he would say yes to 6 weeks. But, not something this minor.
He gave us a piece of foam… an ace bandage… and permission to return to football and PE…
Zach likes the ace bandage. He says it feels much more stable and protected than just the little splint.
So, he should be back in play next week! When we have our game against our biggest, county rivals!

Great job for listening to your instincts and going for that second opinion. Doesn't it make you sad to think what could have been if you hadn't? Happy weekend.
