Vlogemo: Kids Week!

Many weeks are kids week for me on Vlogemotions!  It is so much simpler for me to put their cute faces on the screen than my own!!  But, this morning I took a shower, did my new hair cut hair (which I am not so sure i love) & was all ready.  I opened Tim @ Fort Thompson's Blog up & found he was hosting “kids week” again this week!  I always seem to be on the wrong page! :)  o well!  My only child home to be my victim subject was very cooperative, and gave a stellar performance for you all!  After all she will be turning 5 in just 2 short days, ya know!!

So, here we have it… My 12th week of participating with Tim @ Fort Thompson and Vlogemotions…

Watch…

I mean… silence the music…

Now… Watch…

Vlogemotions Week 11: My Kids

Time to join Tim @ Fort Thompson in Vlogemotions again this week!  I decided that maybe my kids would like to share with you about how they feel about school starting next Tuesday… here you go…

Join my friend Tim & others and make your own vlogemo!  They are a fun switch up to the regular reading & writing & still shots, don’t you think!

I have a prayer request… Jadon, Leah, & Lucas are going with their dad this morning, until Saturday evening… keep them in your prayers.

I am going to be extremely busy the coming few days (which is why I suggested HSSH take the kids a little longer)

Working Thursday & Friday, 12-4 at Carla’s catering business, Roses Are Forever.

Out for dinner with a friend tonight.

Making sandwiches (with some other mom’s) for the football team to eat Friday night after their scrimmage.

Going to the scrimmage (which is over an hour away)

Working at the Football Mother’s Club Chicken BBQ all day on Saturday (11 am on)

Making 4 pies for the BBQ (or buying them might be more like it!)

I know I’ll hardly have a chance to miss my kids… being busy will help…

Week 10: Vlogemo, Excited!

Today is the day that Tim @ Fort Thompson hosts his vlogemotions carnival!  I panicked for a moment (or hour) because I couldn’t find the cord to upload this to my computer & that would have meant that for the 4th week I had a conflict with letting my vlog get posted!!  Say it isnt’ so!  I finally found the cord, but all the stuff from the hall closet is still, well, in the hall waiting for me to put it back.  Yeah, there is more than one way to clean a closet!  So, here it finally is!  Another vlogemo!  This week I am EXCITED!

I have lots of thoughts running through my mind about taking senior pictures for James and his friends.  I spent some time studying flickr photos this morning looking for ways to pose senior guys for awesome shots!

**Insert hyperventilation here**

I can do this.

I have no fancy editing equipment.  Any thoughts on free programs with good results in print?

I need to know how to go about getting copy writes.

I need a name.

Yesterday I mentioned the name thing, I had a few suggestions… I’d love to hear some more.  Then, I’d like to know if anyone knows how to go about getting your name copy written & a logo for the corner of your shots.

HELP!!

Okay, I am excited but this is all new!

Vlogemotion: Minus the Vlog

It’s Thursday, the day I join Tim @ Fort Thompson in his vlogemotions carnival.  BUT, for the third week in a row, i find myself missing an important element in the whole vlog creation process… first it was the camera, then the computer, now the camera’s battery charger is MIA.

I was all set to video, I was even going to let you witness my freshly washed head of hair & my crisp clean face.  (you know cause if i run the hair dryer THEY might wake up, and THEY are all still asleep! YEAH!!)  And if I wake any of THEM to ask where the charger is… yeah, I might as well save my breath and type.

I was not sure what my emotion was going to be today anyway.  Is BUSY an emotion?  HAPPY is.  ANGRY is. WORRY? IMPATIENT?

So, with no camera battery, I sat down to work on my Bible Study Me, Myself, & Lies by Jennifer Rothschild.  Read the first paragraph and knew what I needed to do.

“To sort fact and feeling, she makes a list of lies and truths when she talks to herself.  It’s helped speak truth and hope to her soul.”

I feel like I have been so busy that the truth and the lies get all mixed up together & I need to sort them all out again.

Lies I hear in my head:

You are alone.

Your kids are not going to make it.

You are forgotten.

You aren’t going to make it.

How is James going to go to college?

What if he makes a dumb choice?

What if he fails?

What if he ends up following his dads life path?

HSSH is getting away with this.

HSSH is never going to change.

What God has told you about HSSH is not what you think it is.

You are holding on to something that is never going to happen.

You can’t do this.

Truth:

You have a ton of friends & family who would do anything for you.

You have an amazing God who fills your heart with love & takes away your loneliness.

You have amazing kids who ARE going to make mistakes & who are going to learn and grow by them & become better people because of it.

Where James ends up going to college may not be your choice, but you will have peace that I will take care of things.

Remember you laid HSSH on the altar?  And you intended to leave him there?  Leave him there.

Don’t believe for a minute what you see with your eyes when you see HSSH is truth.

"Jesus replied, 'I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free,
you will be free indeed.'"  John 8:34-36

God has you in the palm of His Righteous Right Hand.  He will never leave you or forsake you.  Wait patiently on the Lord and He will Help you. “Delight yourself in the LORD        and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this:” (my collection of verses put together as they came to me just now, Ps 37 is part of it, not sure where the rest are found)

So, between all the running, and I do mean running, Lord Jesus help me to keep the truth in my mind & to believe it.  And I pray that you help me discern the lies. So many lies. I need You.

A run down of the “busy”

  • football camp for Lucas
  • football camp leading for James & Zach
  • shopping for school shoes & clothes
  • cheerleading practice for Leah
  • swim party for Leah
  • Campus Life Retreat for James & Zach
  • Out to dinner with family on my birthday.
  • Out to paint pottery & eat dinner with a friend.
  • Work.
  • Dentist.
  • Chiropractor.
  • Doctor.
  • Groceries.
  • Visits from out of town friends.

And that is just this week. I heard a country song yesterday while riding in the van with Zach… here i found it on you-tube…

Hey, Tim!  I added a video, so can I officially all this my vlog!  I sure need to tell myself much of this! :)

Well, the kids are up, and NO ONE knows where that battery charger is… sounds like life to me…

Thanks for “listening” to my thought closet adjustment today!  And head over to Tim's place to watch real vlogemos with actual vlogs on them. Ahem.

Vlogemo, Week 10…Lake Video & Grasping for Summer

This week I am once again joining Tim @ Ft Thompson For Vlog-emotions.  As I said in last week’s video, I let James take my video camera to Canada fishing, so no vlog “emotion” from me this week.  Whew!  You are in luck!  I do have a video for you though.  I didn’t have much footage to work with but I did put this together from our week at the lake!  Enjoy!

Since we got back from the lake, a little over a week ago, summer has been flying by.  In my brain I want to believe that this is the “slower” time of year.  Time to relax, refresh, get ready for another year of school and being busy.

Instead I feel busier than ever!  Camps, practices, summer school, & appointments crowd every day.  I have to make time to relax!  I have to choose to go swim with the kids.  Time on the computer, browsing the blogging world is scarce.

I feel like I am grappling to hang on to some sense of summer… choosing to read a book for fun… choosing to go swimming instead of fold laundry… choosing to let the unedited pictures sit in my files waiting for slower days when I can enjoy them…choosing not to post or read blogs as much as I’d like.

Braiding Kiahna’s hair.

Taking a bike ride.

Building a camp-fire.

Working on a 4-H project.

I am so behind on pictures to show you all… how about I end this with a few of those…

Zach & friends at his birthday dinner….

Kiahna with her “poofy” hair! (which she loves but hates to have combed) so we are working on yarn braids again! & a kitty (one of 10 needing homes!!)

Don’t you love this shirt!  She picked it out herself, and how could I say no!?!

I try not to be too overprotective of a mother.  Letting boys be boys, to a degree.  Letting them get dirty, make a mess (until I go crazy, as long as it isn’t in my house).

A couple days ago, Zach and his friends (see above picture minus one) Were over here.  They went out riding 4 wheelers.  Thankfully (and surprisingly) the 3 that left here wore helmets (and will every time, if I have a say).  They met their friend Cody, who lives a mile away.  Cody didn’t have on a helmet.

Zach stopped the 4 wheeler to turn on his lights.  Cody didn’t see Zach through the dust, and hit him.  Cody was thrown off the 4-wheeler.

Very scared boys.

Cody is going to be fine.  Spent the night in the hospital, suffering from a concussion and some very bad abrasions.  Thankfully he is alive & nothing in broken.

Guardian Angels work hard around these kids.

Off to enjoy some more of this gorgeous sunny, breezing, mild summer weather… or fold laundry, or cook dinner, or take in our 4-H projects, or pick up Leah from cheerleading, or take Zach to a birthday party, or read a book… catch me if you can!

There is always Twitter!

Vlogemo, Week 9 & Update

Didn’t know if I would get a vlog-emo post up this week… but I woke up early and got one done!  It is a vlog-emo & an update, along with prayer requests.  I find that it is much quicker for me to do these videos than to type out all my thoughts!  I guess I talk faster than I type!

Here are the quotes I mentioned in the vlog.  All from Week 3, Day 1 of Jennifer Rothschild’s Study, Me Myself & Lies.

“Feelings are valid, but they must concur with truth to be worthy of our life.”

“A surplus of emotion usually precedes acting without wisdom”

“Without wisdom we act emotionally, think with our feelings, and don’t recognize truth—with catastrophic results.”

Thank you for praying with me for wisdom.  And for praying for us this weekend as the kids go with their dad for a few days.

Have a blessed day, and thanks for watching.  Join Tim @ Ft Thompson for vlog-emotions each Thursday.  Say a prayer this week for their family, they are dealing with the death of Carey’s Grandma.

Vlogemotions: Week 7

Vlogemotions Time! Proformance Week!!

This week Tim @ Ft Thompson is once again hosting Vlogemotions!  With a special feature on performances!  Well, I had the word “talent” in my head rather than performance, so you get to see me perform my only talent (LOL!) of yarn braiding Kiahna’s hair!  If you find the information super boring you can roll to the end and hear Kiahna talking about her hair!  That is super cute!!

Leah is our camera girl this week, you hear much more from her behind the camera than you do in front! And Jadon could hardly stand sharing the spotlight so he was, once again given his own video, sharing his own talents!!

So, here we go…

And since I gave Tim such a hard time last week about joining my YOUR Gonna Miss This... Moment Carvival!  I just have to mention that he did join in and so did many of his readers!!  I just had to give credit where credit is due!!  Hope to see you all back here tomorrow with your “Moments” posts ready to go!!  :)

Vlogemotion: Kids

Tim @ Ft Thompson (who keeps promising to Join my “YOUR gonna Miss This… Moment Carnival, but still hasn’t! ahem!) :) is hosting another week of Vlogemotions!  This week the videos are supposed to be geared done by our kids…

It is always interesting when you have kids in front of a camera… then ask them to talk about their emotions… yeah… interesting… odd… uncensored… and hilarious!

I am trying to convince Leah to be a guest blogger for me this summer!  Wouldn’t that be fun!!  I think so!!

Never a dull moment!  For sure!!  (oh and the other boy in the video is my nephew Sammy)

Vlogemotions: Week 4

This has been a fun week!  Celebrating Grandma’s birthday…you will just have to watch this and see my emotion…

When Jadon realized what I was doing, he wanted to get in on the “feelings” again!  I took this of him… I DID NOT (for real!) remind him about going to Tim’s Blog To play along!  He remembered that part on his own!  I was impressed!!

So, like Jadon said, go on over to visit Tim @ Ft Thompson to see all the vlogemotions!

Vlogemotion: Week3

I was so going to pull what Mimi did the other day and be a “cheater cheater pumpkin eater!” and put my kids in front of the camera for this week’s Vlogemotion, and call it a day!  I did put them in front of the camera, they were silly, and the quality is awful, can’t see Kiahna’s face, it is so dark and dreary here today… I’ll let you watch their video first… you know the drill, pause the music…

My friend Beth told me I didn’t need to shower or do my hair to do my video!  Oh, Beth, if you only knew!  :)  I didn’t shower yesterday, and if i had gotten dressed before showering today, the odds of me getting one later… slim to none!!  So, here I am showered, dressed, frustrated, and full of emotions…

Go over to visit Tim @ Ft Thompson to see more Vlogemotions, or to join in the fun!

Vlogemotion: WEEK 2!

It has been quite a challenge to get this up here today!  I tried three different ways to get it up here and finally, at 9:40 I got it done!!

So i am joining Tim @ Fort Thompson for the second week, and I will just let the video speak for itself!

First time Vlogemotion participant!

I am trying something new today! Thought you might all enjoy the treat! You get to watch me on video this time! Oh bother, add to my frustration (I have to write this on blogger to use the blogger video!) it won't let me link Tim without showing the whole url address! so click this image to get to Tim's site! To see more Vlogemotions, and to join in!

So, when I thought about my strongest emotion of the week, I was frustrated to realize that it was frustration AGAIN! So, listen to this to hear me talk more about it... and to see sweet Kiahna on my lap!

Not sure how many of these I will do! Leave me a comment to let me know what you think! You know cause, I have to actually be dressed & comb my hair to be on the camera myself! :)
