You’re Gonna Miss This… Moment… Week 30… Preschool to college in 12 hours or less…

Sigh… when I signed up to be a mom of these kids they were all so little and sweet and non-threatening like… now they are getting so big!!  I’m learning to be ready… I am dealing with my stuff… lots going on in my mind…

Last night, Jadon and I went to Western Night at his preschool!

We had some rip-roaring-howdy-dudie fun!  Riding stick horses, playing bean bag toss, lassoing bouncy ponies, playing the hokey pokey and doing the chicken dance!  Can’t forget a snack with horse cupcakes!  What fun!!

This morning we got up and left home at 6:30 am, James, My Dad, and I, and went on a college visit to Anderson University.

Tonight, I get to go with Jadon again, this time to a party with his Sunday School.

I think I have whip-lash!

Preschool is so simple… I remember when James was there… sigh… yesterday… ;)

I feel like a yo-yo trying to make sense of kindergarten round up and financial aid packets!

I am sure we will survive.. it will be an adventure… never a dull moment… plenty of mud… and I know I sure wouldn’t want to miss it!!  I should write a blog about that… oh yes. I do!!  :)

You all honor me by signing up!  I have had a blast this week reading all your comments and laughing at how different we all are in how we take our coffee! I loved having new friends show up, even your mom’s, as you shared on your own blogs about my give-a-way!  You are all great, I hope each of you win!   I am the biggest winner of them all to call you friend.

As the contest has been raging here… life has been raging behind the computer… a few pictures of the week… oh and the carpet is dry again and I am getting that put back in place while these pictures upload…

I believe it was in a "Tweet", someone asked me what the obsession with mud is over here?  I don’t know.  It’s not my fault.  There seems to be a magnetic force “field” next to our house, calling my children’s names… wish they heard my voice as clearly as they hear the call of the mud…

Basketball is finally over, over… AAU… over.  Finally…

The next three nights James will be performing in his high school musical. 

I struggled with it, but I did call and leave his dad a message just to make sure he knew about it.  It has been painful for me this week… James has been silent, but you know it’s there.  Pray for a miracle.  Suddenly.  We need one.

YOUR Gonna Miss This… Moment… Week 26

Welcome to another edition of YOUR Gonna Miss This… Moment.  A Blog Carnival dedicated to helping us focus on the moments we are living, sometimes fleeting, sometimes not so fleeting… but we want to remember them… because the day will come when we are no longer in the season we walk in now… and did we treasure the moment? or wish it away?  There have been way to many I’ve wished away, because, let’s just be honest… they are hard.  They cause us to work. To make effort when we don’t particularly have time to make the effort.  They require us to make a choice to pause and treasure, instead of wish them away. 

There have been way to many evenings that I have put my kids to bed. Completely, utterly exhausted.  Done.  Can’t take a moment more of their noise.  Their activities.  Their presence.  They have sapped every ounce of my energy.  I’d lay in their beds with them for a few minutes, hear their prayers, and rush out to enjoy some peace and quiet.  Just to be honest. 

Lately, I’ve been waking up to the realization that I’ve been robbed of some precious cuddle time with my two youngest.  Another result of the circumstances, and the lies.  Makes me sad.

Lucky for me they are both still willing to cuddle in my lap, and I am making up for lost time by trying to rock them both before the go to sleep.. singing to them like I did when they were babies… Jadon likes to hear stories, and when grandpa isn’t around, it falls to me.  Luckily they like any story and many times the ones from the Bible are the ones he asks me to tell.

Another moment to treasure… or not…

The first warm days of the year we had 65 degrees yesterday (if you could ignore the howling winds) There is joy in being able to get outside after a LONG winter!

And then there is this part… which is so much harder to treasure…

I suppose one spring… when there are not muddy shoes lying everywhere I could even miss that… at least the little feet that went in them and got them muddy… that’s what makes it a moment.

Preschool, Mother's Day, and Birthdays... oh my...

Add in a stressed out, too busy mom and life is just grand... uhg!!

Jadon had his last week of preschool last week, it included a muddy picnic and a graduation ceremony...

We were walking around the Bison pen. We came upon these geese. The faster the kids went, the fast the geese went, the faster the kids went, the faster the geese went... there was no need for the parents to exercise again that day after that hike! You can see who's little head is in the lead...

He will go to preschool again next fall... but he graduated anyway!

Lucas will turn 10 on May 18th! We celebrated along with Mother's Day and his cousin Whitney's birthday last weekend. This weekend he will have a few boys overnight here!

Lucas now hold the family record for the dirtiest shirt ever...

I tried not to listen, but it was something to do with 4 wheelers, wagons, and dragging behind in the grass... and he is my calm child...

And, me being the miracle mom that I am! Got that shirt clean enough, I think he could wear it in public once again (because of course it was one of the only new ones I bought him this spring!)!! YEAH ME!

Puppy, Beads, and of course... Mud...

Check out the smiles... it will be nice to have a good dog around again. We had a dog just like this 2 years ago. It ran away, and began our saga of, oh, what was it? 4 or 6 dogs that either ran away or died, or didn't work out. This one's name is Jack.

He's on my lap right now, whining to get down and go to the kids. He as fallen in love with them in the few short hours we have had him. And so far he hasn't peed on the floor! Pray for protection over this dog!

Beads...

I had to redo the back of Kiahna's head on Sunday. It was too fuzzy. And I learned to put in beads! I am planning to order more soon, and I have been learning alot online about doing other things with her hair! Look for exciting stuff coming soon!!! I HOPE!!!

These are from last Friday... I was determined to keep some of Kiahna's flip flops clean enough for good... they did clean up nice! But, I wasn't happy with them!

Remember how cute these were when I bought them! I have been trying to keep them up so she can't wear them like this! They climbed and got them! The third pair is Hallies.

Ahhh... the peacefulness of a quiet house after a long day... think I'll go make some tea...

Could Spring Be Here???

Looks like Spring may have come to Indiana... at least for the day. It was sunny, and a warm 56 degrees today... Our house is blocked by the wind so we had it very nice!

How quickly though the realization of the DIRT involved in Spring...

Why do children do this? Does it intice you to go outside in your socks?? Puzzling isn't it? At what point in life to we decide this isn't such a good idea? Maybe after we have to start doing the laundry? This will be an issue with us all summer... oh well...

My First Blog Entry!! How exciting!! Spring is in the air here!! And I am trying to learn how this thing works... these pictures are not in the order I had planned!! Oh well!! I will learn! And the ones I put at the end have now dissappeared so I guess I have to put them in the beginning! URG!! This is taking so long and is frustrating me...

Leah and Kiahna made lots of cup cakes today for her to take to their 5th grade booth at the carnival tomorrow night at school. They are doing a cake walk!

Lucas in the snow...barefoot... riding his bike... at least he isn't wearing his socks!

Jadon will hopfully learn to move his bike before someone runs over it... I just know this is going to be bad...

Jadon tried planting his palm leaf he got at preschool... He got to be Jesus and ride on the donkey's back!

More of Jadon enjoying the mud... I didn't get one of him stuck ankle deep in the mud on the side of the house... this was afterwards when he was having fun cleaning up!

Remembering how to ride his bike! Not so easy with big ole boots on!

And the best part of spring... getting the grill running again... it still had a twinge of oil smell to the fire though... kind of ruined the effect!

Know what this is? This is the mud that Jadon threw at my front door.

Today was the first day that we could actually think of being outside for awhile... and it has been such a long cold winter, why wouldn't we love to do that? How quickly I am reminded of the "fun" of spring time and the "joys" of children playing out doors...

And while I've typed this, Jadon and Kiahna have gotten into the cupcakes, spilled some anti freeze in the garage, and everyone who was supposed to be cleaning up the kitchen has conviently dissappeared! Better get!
