Snow & flooding….

Last week we had our **HOPEFULLY** last snow storm of the season… The kids went out and made this snowman with Zach & his girl Rachel…

This was Friday…

By Monday the temps had risen, the snow was melting & we had a thunderstorm, complete with lightening & tornado touchdowns…  oh, & power outages with flooding…

My basement when I woke up on Monday morning… yes, it was this messy… yes I was already in the process of cleaning out the storage room… which in the big picture was a plus because there were a lot more things that would have been on the ground if I had not done that…

The boy’s bedroom is down there…

And their bathroom… (towels piled up by Zach so he could stand & get ready that morning)

All these clothes were clean & “fell” out of their closet… and soaked up the flood water…

And this was the laundry pile…

The basement kitchen…

Right now every area with carpet is empty & every thing is piled on the vinyl flooring… I donated 3 bags of stuff… free-cycled & sold a few things I was not going to put back into storage… The carpeting is dry & scheduled to be re-laid this morning… then it will need cleaned & we can move back in.

$500 deductible on my flood insurance… my brother-in-law is installing a new sump pump, plus a battery powered back up… that’s going to be costly…

I get my first tax refund since my divorce… I get to spend it on a sump-pump… joy of joys!!   I did buy some “fun” stuff with it already though too… it will be fine.  I am extremely blessed & thankful!!!

Icy Winter musings…

I took this photo Sunday morning when we had all that freezing frost…

Lots going through my mind tonight…

It’s almost 1/3 of the way through the winter…

No school today because of and ice storm last night…

I’ve exercised every day for the past 15 days…

I joined a fitness center for the first time in my life 2 weeks ago…

I believe it might be what is keeping me sane at the moment…

Got the call back from the testing place in Chicago for Kiahna… now must figure out if I am doing this testing how I am going to pay for it…

Her behaviors seem to be getting harder and harder to deal with & have required more changes at school & learning at home…

She’s responding well to the changes at school…

I have a lot to learn at home…

It would have been our 20 year wedding anniversary today…

Lots of things to think about…

Praise the Lord… He never changes… Has all things under control… and is never surprised…

Snow Week

And we thought we were going to get away with not making up school days…

Yesterday was absolutely breath taking…**The highlight of the day**

Sunshine & Frost Covered EVERYTHING.

2 hour delay called late.

Kids glad, since they didn’t do their homework.

Mom mad, since they didn’t do their homework.

6 year old temper tantrum, late for school.

Plans upside down.

Massage **GUESS THERE WERE 2 HIGHLIGHTS**

Today:

School Canceled.

Not looking too good for tomorrow either.

Saturday’s snow…

Our Drive… (after James dug it out 2 times!

How many more inches will we get today?

How hard will the wind blow?

How many days will we miss of school?

How long will we go to school into June?

How long will we all be at home together in one house?

How will I choose to handle it all?

YOUR Gonna Miss This…Moment 64… with a contest!

So sorry to have skipped out on this for the past two weeks!  Something had to give, and it was the blog that took the hit!  LOL!  Stay tuned till the end of this post for some special announcements!

Yesterday, it snowed.  A LOT. Enough to send the schools home early & delay school (or cancel in some districts) today. 

We had a delay.  So, Kiahna and I were here alone.  I decided to take my camera and go out & see what we could find to photograph.

Kiahna hasn’t wanted to go out in the snow and play with the other kids… but today with me… she loved stomping around in the snow!

It was so beautiful, snow was everywhere and on everything!

A fun day for Kiahna and I, one I will miss as she goes off to school on days like today with the other kids next year.

We only got stuck 2 times in the snow!  Both in my parents lane!  I tried going there to get pictures of the birds by their feeders…

The snow is so beautiful.  Much preferred to the mud in my mind!
