Run in Such a way

“’Do you not know that in a race all the runners run,

Bethel Track @ AU April 21, 2011 070

but only one gets the prize.?’”

Bethel Track @ AU April 21, 2011 071

Run in such a way as to get the prize.

Bethel Track @ AU April 21, 2011 074

Everyone who competes in the games

Bethel Track @ AU April 21, 2011 077

goes into strict training.

Bethel Track @ AU April 21, 2011 079

They do it to get a crown that will last forever.

Bethel Track @ AU April 21, 2011 082

Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly;

Bethel Track @ AU April 21, 2011 034

I do not fight like a man beating the air.

Bethel Track @ AU April 21, 2011 035

No, I beat my body

Bethel Track @ AU April 21, 2011 038

and make it my slave

Bethel Track @ AU April 21, 2011 085

so that after I have preached to others,

Bethel Track @ AU April 21, 2011 089

I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

Let Me Hold You Longer

Last year when I heard Karen Kinsgbury read this book, I knew what I wanted to do with the words she had written.

Last night I did it…

Tonight is track sectional… unless James can finish in the top 4 of an event, it will be the “last time he runs for his high school team”.

He doesn’t handle pressure very well, and runs so much faster in the lower pressure races he’s had this year… Praying he can relax, enjoy, have fun, and not be angry at himself if he doesn’t get the top 4.

Praying he gets in the top 4 and reaches this goal of his.

Praying he has learned something about the race of life with all his training & hard work.

He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.

Even youths grow tired and weary,
       and young men stumble and fall;

but those who hope in the LORD
       will renew their strength.
       They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

SO many emotions as a mom… I am happy, excited, afraid, nervous… & just want to cry.  How can my baby be to this stage in life?

SO happy for James.

2 races in a row

Track vs SW & Heritage 2010 048 copy

Who do you think won this race??

James is on the right.

This is what the finish of the last 2 races he has ran has looked like.

He has been called 2nd in both races.

But, outside of that, there is some new developments in the college opportunities department.  It may be a couple more weeks till me know what’s going to happen.

Life is not fair.

YOUR Gonna Miss This…Moment…73

YGMT...moment 2

Track meets started this week.

Both James & Zach are running on the same team.

(How convenient for me!)

My favorite photo so far…

Hand off

James handing the baton to Zach…

copy 2

Zach hasn’t really found his “event” yet, I think he might wish he was playing baseball (I TOLD HIM SO, but I can’t tell him that now can I!)

copy 3

And James is loving is 110 sticks again this year, starting the season with a second place finish at 16.1, and the second meet was a 16.7 into the wind for a FIRST place!

Copy 6

First match was 85 and sunny, second match had winds & wind chills in the 20’s.  2 Days apart.

I am going to miss this…
