Trying this again.

Thankfulness always helps a bad attitude… right?  I am not sure I am going to come up with any (yes, I am in that rotten of a mood, and feeling that sorry for myself) but I am going to get an “A” for effort.

gifts

  • I have Jadon and Kiahna with me.
  • Zach is having fun with his friends.
  • Leah, Lucas and James are seeing their dad and grandma they haven’t seen in 2 months.
  • there is no hurricane headed towards my house (at least not physically)
  • later we can take bike ride and enjoy the last long light evenings of summer.
  • warm blankets on cool mornings.
  • Internet friends who pray and listen.
  • Internet feeds of church service when you can’t physically make it to church.
  • Kiahna hasn’t threw up today.
  • Naps.
  • No arguments going on around me.
  • Quiet house.  (I am forcing myself to be thankful for it!)
  • Family.
  • Creamy warm, vanilla coffee… think I’ll go make some…

Pam, I must say that I DEEPLY admire your ability to see the good in everyday life in the middle of all the chaos. It convicts and inspires me. Thanks for this post.

What a great way to lighten a mood. Really hope, for your sake, it worked, Pam!

It's great to try and lighten your mood, and I really commend you. But please don't feel guilty to us, or to God, for being overwhelmed and in a down mood. You have your reasons. That being said, I hope the cloud lifts soon, and that you feel the love of Jesus through everything you're experiencing right now.

Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day! I have been reading yours for the past several days and you have moved me to tears.....:) The letter to Kiahna's birthmom was beautiful! SO MANY things we wonder..and we wish we knew. Wonderful!

Thank you for the prayers and the encouraging comments here tonight. I had a good cry. I felt really sorry for myself, then we got out of the house after the naps and went on a bike ride. Everything has evened out again, for now. More in the morning.

That's awesome you can list the good things while going through the bad. Bike rides can do wonders too, at least you were able to get out of the house and enjoy the beautiful weather.
