Humbled.

Yesterday I received an e-mail from a friend.  I asked her if I could share it with you all…

Pam,

I generally have not responded to many of my e-mails lately, but truly feel that I should share something with you.

A few years ago our family decided to start a “prayer basket”.  We found a old basket with a handle that I had laying around, and from time to time when we would hear of someone who needed prayer, we would write their name down on a small piece of torn paper, fold it really small, and put it in the basket.  At dinner time, we would get out the basket and go around and say a prayer for each person that we had all drawn. It was a good habit, and I’m sure a rewarding one.

When my husband left for that short/long period of time we had failed to keep up our basket... Recently, I was cleaning the kitchen and on a top shelf, I found our old “friend.  And I brought her back to the table.  My daughter, now being 4 years old, has claimed it as her daily deed, to make sure the basket makes it around during dinner time.   She often hands out the prayers and is incredibly excited about making sure it gets done.

In the basket over time, we have found so many names in there.  People we have forgotten, or haven’t talked to in many years.  People who have lost loved ones, that I am sure that it feels like it’s “old news”.  But, in our home we still continue to pray for all of them.

The funny thing is, that we also have a running joke here…. Your family.  The “A” family is always on the table!  No matter how many names, and there are many names, my daughter never fails to place “J” and Pam on the table at every meal.

I just thought I would let you know that your news is not “old” and we continue to pray for you and your family.  And that nothing is a coincidence!!

“A”

I am humbled… speechless.

Pam

We have a prayer box that we are praying through and soon - each person will be prayed over again!

You are in the prayer box here too!

Love and blessings,

We used to put all of our Christmas pictures into a basket, for 1 per night to be pulled out to pray for.

That is so sweet that you are in their family dinner prayers every night, no matter who gets pulled out of the basket.
