What a weekend.
I wish I had more pictures.
Where do I start?
With that sea of elementary children’s faces?? And the standing room only gymnasium filled with grandparents & VIP's coming out to support their children?
With the first benefit we attended on Saturday and the jam-packed cafetorium at AC? All there to support 2 boys who are battling life threatening illnesses?
The House of Hope… “for the boys” benefit? A room full of people, Leah’s singing with 2 other girls “Potters Hand” & Tom Sharing his heart for hurting teens & his vision for our city & the work that their ministry is seeking to do in lives. Doors to open on December 1.
The two friends who both called me last week in tears… “I can’t do this”… and me being able to be prayerful support back to them for all the days they were to me.
Sitting in church and finding out that a family that our church supports on the mission field had a motorcycle accident… there were injuries… and before the service ended finding out that a 5 year old boy had lost his life… the second child this family has lost to death on the mission field.
Sometimes it’s all too much to think about…
Then you have my parents… endless means of support to their family and so many others… choosing to come to the HOH banquet with me & Leah, on their anniversary. Coming to game after game after game of my kids and my sisters…
Community supporting one another.
It is an incredible thing to witness.

A commenter shared this, and I thought it was worth adding to the post… thank you Krista.
“When your faith endures many conflicts and your spirit sinks low, do not condemn yourself. There is a reason for your season of heaviness. Great soldiers are not made without war. Skillful sailors are not trained on the shore. It appears that if you are to become a great believer you will be greatly tested. If you are to be a great helper to others you must pass through their trials. The uncut diamond has little brilliance, the unthreshed corn feeds no one and the untried believer is of little use or beauty. There are great benefits to come from your trials and depression ." ~Charles Spurgeon

The support is wonderful. Truly.
I'm sorry for the family's loss. I lost my brother to a motorcycle. So, so sad.
What a great post about support. We need each other, don't we? God made us for relationship and it's evident in your post. What a blessing it is that you were able to support some friends through prayer because of your life experiences.
I am sorry for that family's loss as well. I lost a friend years ago to a motorcycle accident and also a cousin right there in Indiana near the "9 Mile". I think that's the name of it on U.S. 27.
Thanks for the encouragement.
Cherish those wonderful parents of yours! Although my husband and I only have 1 parent there for us(my dad) we hope to be there for our children that way.
You have been an encouragement and blessing reading your story..I came here thru anothers blog.
Keep being real, and know you are making an impact on others. You are a wonderful mother !

I saw this quote from Charles Spurgeon and hope it blesses you as it did me....

You are shining although you may not see it! krista
Pam,
That was a great post and yes it was a wonderful weekend to support our school kids and others in the community. Oh Pam, I wish you would have told us to smile in the picture you posted. It was a great picture of your parents and thats what counts!
Have a good day!
Wonderful and blessed post, Pam.
That was so sweet! I love the T-shirts with the scripture! That is a sad story that has been turned into HOPE!
What an awesome thing for everyone to come together to bring support. So glad that you were able to be there for your friends too.
That is what being a Christian & a friend is all about. Seeing a need and meeting it.
Yes, in the end it's about love isn't it?
Beautiful post Pam.
That's awesome your parents come out to support you all- definitely important in life :)
Thanks for the Charles Spurgeon quote. I'm going to post it on my blog, too. I am definitely walking through a trial, and it's good to be reminded that God can and will use this trial to refine my faith.
I haven't read many blogs this past month, as I took 7 of my kids on a cross-country road trip. But, we're back now, and I'm ready to catch up with all my bloggy friends.
Hope you're doing WELL!
Hugs!!!
