If I had time to write a blog post today, which I don’t. I’d ask for you to be prayerful with me for my children. Their dad is turning 40 this weekend. His wife called and is wanting to pick up the kids to surprise him on his birthday. So, they are planning to be with them on Sunday for a few hours. Nice gesture. They haven’t went with them since a few hours after James’ graduation, and before that last Christmas. It’s hard. I am trying to have a good attitude. Trying to do the right thing. That’s taking God’s Grace for sure.
James has a big test today. Big enough that if he fails it could really hurt his future at the college he is at. Please pray for him. He doesn’t communicate very well with me, I hope he is studying. He says he is. It’s a hard stage in life for me with him. One I am still adjusting to.
Zach is just struggling tremendously. So much attitude. So many poor choices lately. He has me extremely concerned. Praying that he has discernment to see truth & not believe lies. To make better friend choices. To say “no” when he knows he should. All things he hasn’t been doing so well at.
Kiahna is not doing all that well in school. She is having problems doing what the teacher asks. That just doesn’t work. Teacher is doing great with her. We are trying another medication. Just praying for the wisdom to know how to help her.
Praying for my kids teachers, coaches, people around them to see where my kids hurt & where their behavior is about that hurt more than just choosing to be bad. Praying that God is the Father to the fatherless as He has promised. Praying for the truth. Praying God’s plans played out in my kids lives. Praying that what the enemy intended to kill, steal, & destroy from us is used for God’s Glory in each of us.
Even that “hopeless” man who is turning 40 this weekend.

It is not advised to try to take your own family photo.
It is not advised you set it up and let someone else in the family click your family photo.
It is not advised to have ornery kids.
I need to hire someone to take my own family’s photo.
Good grief.

Last weekend we to visit James at college… took a hike… enjoyed the beautiful fall weather…
Leah helping Kiahna when she was “done” walking…
Huge leaf… mad girl.
I think that walking stick is a little large Lucas…
No photos of James. How did that happen?
Zach went on a trip with Campus Life instead of going with us.
Not in a real good place with Zach right now. Prayers appreciated.

Football ended for our team last Friday night.
It was so ugly.
I hate when football ends.
Thought you might enjoy seeing Zach play with his cast on…
Zach had a great season as a sophomore! Lettering in Varsity Football as a sophomore is no easy task!
Very proud of him.
Very glad he is not a senior this year!
Very much looking forward to 2 more years of watching him play!
Time for basketball.
You know.
After the cast comes off in 2 more weeks.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MOM & DAD!!!

Last weekend I went to my 20 year class reunion!
I happen to really enjoy class reunions. I have great memories of high school.
So, I looked in the mirror & wished I had gotten a hair cut, realized I had some how not lost the 20 pounds we all think we need to lose before going to class reunions. Pulled a pair of jeans from the pile of dirty laundry, scraped the chocolate off of them. Realized I should probably be concerned that I was going without a “date” again. But, wasn’t. I decided that they would all accept me as I am!
I had fun.
The music was a little (A LOT) too loud when it started. Lots of people left because you literally couldn’t carry on a conversation unless you were screaming.
The food was yummy. I was trying to balance my plate, cup & talk and spilled my plate on the floor. Take me as I am remember?? :)
I loved seeing this old banner we had painted for homecoming week, when we were seniors and won the class contest with…
Glad I don’t store it!! But, it was awesome to see it again!! And to see & spend the evening with friends from far & near!
Carol was there, who didn’t go to high school with us, but married one of our classmates & has become a good friend through the blogging world! And Julie who lives a few miles away & I see weekly at church. (they both blogged about the reunion too!)
And it was great to spend time with my good friend Joni again too! She doesn’t live too far away, but it takes effort to get together. (Like I get my oil changed or car repairs done and she picks me up and we go for lunch kind of effort!)
We tried the old cheerleader pose, but it just isn’t the same without our hair all sticking together from hair spray… we missed our 4th wheel Petula in this pose (like living in a country across the world is a good excuse for not coming to your 20 year class reunion or something!)
yes, here we are… 20 years ago… we decided it was a good thing we had all changed a bit!
Fun times!!

All was going well & Zach started as a defensive back & worked hard…
Then somehow his hand? arm? wrist? got twisted? turned? smashed?
The doctor on the sidelines examined it and didn’t think there was a medical reason for him to stay out of the game… but then the pain kept getting worse, so he sat out.
Today we are supposed to see how it is feeling & looking & may end up going for x-rays.
Hope it’s not broken.
