SNAPAHOLICS!

Check out this Website from a fellow adoptive mom!  This is where I bought the 4000 snaps and beads last week!  SNAPAHOLICS!

Check out Kiahna's hair with her new beads in it!

DSC02476(1)

Thank you Steph for the wonderful site and the great products!  Tell all your friends who have adopted about this site and the great learning tools that Steph has provided!

Looks like Kiahna's yarn extensions aren't going to make it much past two weeks this time.  I have ordered some new hair gel, and once in comes in I will start redoing it.  Hopefully, I have some more knowledge and a tad of experience now that I know what I need to do differently to help them stay longer!  Most mom's are saying that they get around 6 weeks out of these braids.  This is what Kiahna's hair is doing...

DSC02476(3)

The hair is starting to stick out the side of the yarn where it ends.  I know now that I need LOTS of gel on that hair, especially towards the ends!  And it is slipping from the scalp.  Sort of sliding down like a knee sock would!  I need to work on getting my start tighter.  These two things happen, and I think we could almost make it those 6 weeks!

I had to unknot the ends of all the braids and take off the old beads to put on the new ones.  The old beads seemed to have reacted with her hair gel and tarnished!  That was a disappointment.  They were so cute and shiny!  We loved them Bekah!  Thanks!!

DSC02366(1) First ones I put in that tarnished.  Weren't they cute in her hair though!

So now we have this huge supply of beads!  Which ones will we choose to put in next time???!!!  When you are thinking of leaving them in for that long, you want to choose right!!

Zoo Day!

Pictures of our trip to the zoo yesterday! You have to know that I normally hate trips to the zoo. First reason why I hate trips to the zoo. The Fort Wayne Zoo is hard to find!! Even though I have been there 10988983 times, I still manage to get lost each time!! WHY IS THIS???? You know, nothing starts a day off right like getting lost!!

Another reason I hate trips to the zoo, is because most of the time it is 110 degrees the day we go, and there are 2 million people there! Not to mention that when we go it is mostly with my family and that means we are keeping track of 19 children (if you count James, which you probably can't anymore) so 18 children!!

No wonder this trip was so much more relaxing than other times. It was a crisp 60 degrees, not crowded, and I only had myself and 2 children to keep track of!

Jadon was disappointed that he couldn't see the giraffe's. I don't know if it will be liek this all summer, but there are no animals available to see in the African area because of the construction. Now you can ride the new Sky Safari Ride, and see the construction for a mere $2 a person! Made that mistakes last year!! Not making that one again!!!

We made 3 urgent trips to the bathroom... never convenient in public with kids and people who don't seem to want to move!! It's funny though how if you say (LOUDLY) to your other children , HURRY UP, JADON MIGHT PEE HIS PANTS! People have a tendency to move... especially when you are in the Rain Forest by the waterfall and it hits them!! GOOD THING THERE ARE RESTROOMS RIGHT OUTSIDE THE DOORS!!

Kiahna thought that she needed to be the one to push the stroller through the zoo with her blanket, and she proceeded to YELL at me each time I tried to help her! That will be the last time I take a stroller in the zoo for this child! NOT WORTH THE HASTLE!

Jadon checks out the lion head drinking fountain. He assured me that it was "not real Mom!" and couldn't bite him!

I did splurge and let the ride the ponies! Something that we never do with all the kids! You could almost BUY a pony for the cost of having 19 kids pay $4 a piece to ride these ponies around the ring two times!!

Kiahna loves horses and ponies! Here she is petting the HUGE horse in the Indiana Farm area...

And and nice grumpy face on the train...

DSC02456

We had fun. Jadon told me on the way home that he was mad at me. He wouldn't tell me why though. Finally, he told me that was mad because I didn't take him to Chuck-E-Cheese! KIDS!!! OH MY!!

They both fell asleep on the way home. Kiahna is asleep in this one. Jadon woke up when I stopped.

Another interesting day...

DSC02387

Leah and I went last night and got our hair cut.  Leah gave her hair to Locks of Love!  She was excited to find out that they only require 6 inches of hair now.  She is looking very cute, and thinks that shorter hair is more her!

DSC02373

We are so enjoying the warm weather!  These were taken yesterday.  We had a picnic outside for lunch.  After I pulled out the camera, Jadon didn't want to sit and eat anymore...

DSC02370

DSC02372

DSC02378

I got a kick out of her hair when she runs!

Jadon is so enjoying playing with Jack.  Jack is a very docile, patient, passive dog.  God's gift to us!  PRAY FOR JACK TO BE SAFE!!!

DSC02382

Kiahna was not happy that Jadon put Jack in her dolls bed!!  Jack was patiently sitting in there for quite an impressive amount of time...

Then I couldn't find him, and Jadon told me that Jack was in the bathroom...

DSC02384

Here let me get closer up for you...

DSC02383

That's Jack... taking a nap inside the laundry hamper...

Did I mention PRAY FOR JACK!!

Jadon loves him and plays with him so much, but he doesn't think all the time.

A cute one of Kiahna at the track meet Tuesday night...

And there is James once again, jumping those hurdles.  Two second place ribbons that night...  110 High Hurdles and the 300 Hurdles...

DSC02346

I ordered some beads for Kiahna's hair... I may have went just a little overboard... but they were a good deal!  And when your paying shipping...

DSC02385 I think that there are about 4000 beads or snaps here...  yes... 4000...

Anyone care to take votes on how long it is until I have a picture of these spilled?  PLEASE GOD, NO!!!

We went to the park for awhile tonight while Leah was at voice lessons in Berne... here are a few pictures of that...

The Weather...

The forecast today... 72 degrees and sunny... the view outside...

DSC00727

You guessed it... no school...

DSC02338

DSC02335

The dog is pretty much prisoner here... He is turning out to be a really, really good dog.  He is going to the bathroom outside really well.  I hate to even say it aloud for fear that he'll stop if I say it!!  Kiahna also is doing really well at going potty!!

DSC02337

Why?  The day after you get your head shaved??  Run into a door, (or the door runs into him) and he is bleeding profusely in public!!  My dad said, he thinks that is the first time he's seen a head with a bandaid on it!

DSC02331 DSC02334

Thanks for all the compliments on her hair!  I really love it like this too!  She is loving it too... now the real test will be taking her to Ft Wayne with it... Leah is asking to go today, and maybe we will...

This is the book I am reading right now... HIGHLY recommending it... it is fiction, but so awesome...The Shack.  Nothing I have read has helped me see God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit in this way.

More Spring Fun...

We are enjoying the beautiful spring days...

DSC02265

Jumping on the trampoline!! James organized a group of guys to come over and move the wood piles into the barn last weekend! That was a blessing!! So, now the tramp can come out of the barn and the fun is begun!! They can't wait to move it over to the tree so they can climb and jump out of the tree... uh-huh...

The tree house is getting used again...

DSC02107

And they are wearing out this baby puppy...

DSC02268

He is doing better at being potty trained than Kiahna is at the moment... at least i can put diapers back on Kiahna though...

DSC02262

Is that legal to post??

James did excellent in the track meet on Tuesday night. Placing first for the first time in the 110 hurdles... this is a picture that you can tell he is winning... if it isn't too small...

DSC02254

Here is a close up of the same picture...

DSC02254(1)
Zach and his friend Issac, trying to hide from the camera the fact that they stole Kiahna's blanket from her to keep warm at the track meet!!
